The Process
Cross Cultural Collaboration

As a team we were asked to design a playground and storage system for Sommer’s Middle School, a primarily low income school interested in improving educational outcomes through increased exercise and outdoor time.  Client meetings, design charrettes, and participatory design with middle schoolers and school officials led our design process.

Our final design was a set of interactive play structures that sought to serve 'the whole child'. Each structure focused on a different part of the child; the intellectual, physical, emotional.
